The Visual Foxpro 9.0 update is FREE to Maintenance Agreement customers running Visual Foxpro 7.0 applications. The update must be initially installed from a CD-ROM. The CD-ROM installation loads the required Visual Foxpro 9.0 libraries. There have been database changes, so the System Update and Index procedures must be run when the update is installed.
The Visual Foxpro 7.0 and Visual Foxpro 9.0 programs will reside in the same program folders and may be run simultaneously. You can go to Control Panel and Remove the Visual Foxpro 7.0 program at any time. We recommend leaving the Visual Foxpro 7.0 program installed until you are satisfied that everything is running correctly in the Visual 9.0 program.
There will be a new folder (PDFFILES) added to each program folder. This folder is the default location for the new PDF files that can be created when running reports. The default location for the PDF files created by the Government Accounting System is \PROGRAM FILES\ SOFTWORKS\ ACCOUNT\ PDFFILES.
FOXUSER.DBF, located in each application’s program folder, contains the BROWSE PREFERENCE settings for each browse. The format has changed in Foxpro 9.0. The FIRST time you go to any browse screen, you will receive the message “Invalid BROWSE setup — default setup used”. Click “OK” when you receive this message. Drag the fields and resize them as you desire and press CTRL+W to save your preferences.
The colors displayed within the applications can be changed by changing the DISPLAY settings. Go to Control Panel and select DISPLAY. Select the APPEARANCE tab. Here you will find color options for your desktop, windows and applications.

DAILY CREW WORKSHEET:
Two new fields have been added to the Daily Crew Worksheet DETAIL page. The FIRST time you go to the Detail page, you may receive the following error….
Variable MSWGRID21036 is not found…… Select YES to record the error and then OK to CONTINUE the program. You will receive a similar message three more times. Select YES to record the error and then OK to CONTINUE the program each time. After the Detail Page is displayed, click the HEADER PAGE and then back to the DETAIL page.
This will store the new ORDER and WIDTH variables to the MEM file. The MEM file does not get updated when a new version is installed over an existing application.

FLEET MAINTENANCE:
A new field (Date) was added to the Job Entry LABOR page. The FIRST time you go to the LABORl page, you may receive the following error….
Variable LAB108 is not found…… Select YES to record the error and then OK to CONTINUE the program. You will receive a similar message one more time. Select YES to record the error and then OK to CONTINUE the program each time. After the LABOR Page is displayed, click the WORK ORDER PAGE and then back to the LABOR page.
This will store the new DATE variable to the MEM file. The MEM file does not get updated when a new version is installed over an existing application.
